Scholarship Recipient – Caraline Ross

On certain weekends each spring, the Independence Historical Society opens its historic buildings to the public. Belles from the Heritage Society of Washington County serve as docents. IHS awards a $500 scholarship to a Belle who demonstrates knowledge of the IHS historical buildings by her enthusiastic presentation as a docent and by submission of an essay. This year’s scholarship recipient is Caraline Ross. Caraline’s parents are Tracy and Brian Ross. Caraline graduated from BHS this spring and will be attending Oklahoma State University majoring in Economics & Pre-Law. Caraline is pictured here in front of the 1820’s Coles Cabin along with IHS President Wiley George and IHS Head of Docents Linda Keeton.
